ATTERBERG LIMITS (ASTM D4318)
ATTERBERG LIMITS (ASTM D4318)
The Atterberg limits test is used to determine the plastic limit, liquid limit, and plasticity index of fine-grained soils. This test is very important for the design of foundations and flexible pavements and structures where repeated wetting and drying cycle in soil layers can affect the performance of the structure, especially in airfield and road designs. The behavior of clay and fine-grained soils that includes compressibility, permeability, swell potential and shear strength is an essential part of geotechnical engineering. Building standards have vast experience to provide accurate and reliable soil test results to our clients efficiently and economically.
