CONSOLIDATION TEST (ASTM D-2435)
CONSOLIDATION TEST (ASTM D-2435)
Consolidation test used for fine-grained soil (which include clays and silt) is given special consideration in the foundation design of civil structure due to the problematic nature of such soils.
Consolidation test results are used to determine the magnitude and rate of differential settlement of the foundation over a longer period of time. This test also provides an estimated total settlement value of structure which is essential for the design of buildings placed on soft clays and fine-grained silts. Building standards lab has experienced and trained staff with reliable test equipment to provide accurate results at reasonable rates.
